about us

Taking on our family name and paying tribute to our Nordic heritage, Geil Strength Co. was designed to bring people a highly personal and motivating way to reach their fitness goals.

By combining strength training, nutrition, and a no-excuses approach to life, we were able to personally turn our ships around and ‘burn the boats’ in the process. Here’s how that journey began, and how we can impact yours.

Hello! My name is Dakota, and I’m a natural bodybuilder. I’m also a recovering food and sugar addict. At my heaviest, I weighed over 275 lbs. I started a ketogenic way of eating in Jan of 2019, and have lost a total of 110 lbs.

After a member of the family was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, I realized I had to do something to change the way I was eating. I spent years yo-yo dieting and “bro” dieting. In the end, I just kept slowly gaining weight and could never figure out why. My mother-in-law and her sister found a diet called Code Red. We figured we would give it a shot, and so my journey began.

After a few months, Code Red evolved into a lazy keto diet, and then into a whole-food ketogenic lifestyle. Today, I love the way I feel. I realized you never really know how crappy you feel until you stop feeling that way.

After two years of healthy weight loss, I chose to compete in an INBF amateur bodybuilding show followed by an NPC Natural show one month later. Health has become a central part of my life, second to being a good father to my son and growing family. My goal is to help others learn to love their bodies and in turn themselves again. Over the past 4 years, I have completely changed my life. I would like to help you do the same.

My name is Alyssa, I have struggled with eating disorders my entire life. I have tried almost every “fad” diet out there. Yeah, I’d lose a few pounds here and there but my relationship with food was so toxic I’d gain every pound lost and then some back within a few months.

As a young adult, I was told I’d most likely never have children. My biggest dream in life was to be a mom, and that door was seemingly slammed in my face. Fast forward to January 2019. My dad was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. My aunt and mom found a program called Code Red that approached everything with a low-carb, whole-food approach. The entire family jumped in with both feet.

My fiancé and I were a mere 9 months away from our wedding day, and we faced every challenge head-on. By April I was down 40 pounds which was mind-boggling. I have never had that kind of success eating real food. While on our Code Red journey we found the ketogenic diet, which made an even bigger impact. I was eating more calories than ever before while continuing to shed pounds. Of course, there were plateaus and struggles along the way, but I stuck with it. By our wedding day, I had gone from 233 pounds to 163 pounds. That’s a total of 70 pounds lost in just 9 months.

After getting healthy and slowly healing my relationship with food, my husband and I were blessed with our first baby in November of 2021. I stayed with the low-carb, keto lifestyle throughout my pregnancy, and my son was born at 8lbs 11oz - as a very healthy keto kiddo. I would love to help women and other mommas out there heal their relationships with food and get to a healthy sustainable lifestyle.
